The first token will unlock the following 6 encounter cards Dead Kings Hall, Captain of the Guards, Local Peasant, Devils Choice, River, and the Jack of Skulls. Once you have defeated the Jack of Dust you will unlock 3 sets of tokens. So when you can add those items to your equipment deck try to acquire them as you make your way down to the Boss. The Skeleton Shield (shield), Rat Cleaver (weapon), and Herne's Antlers (helm) will make the Skulls, Plague, and Scales boss fights a lot simpler. Something to keep in mind for future boss fights. After you have done this a few times he will drop like a sack of potatoes and you will be done with your first boss. You can also just run up to him and strike him a couple times with followed by a dodge roll with to avoid that uncounterable attack. The key to defeating the Jack of Dust is to either counter his attacks with when you are able to, strike him a couple of times with, and then roll away with while he launches his uncounterable attack at you. In future battles though, on other scenarios, or in endless mode, this can cause you to lose a lot of gold in a short period of time. In this battle that is not a big deal because as soon as the battle is over the scenario is over. Anytime that you get struck by the Jack of Dust he will steal 5 gold from you. The third attack he has is an increased damage buff to him and any companions that are still alive. The second attack cannot be countered and is highlighted by a red indicator above his head. The first is an attack that can be countered, highlighted by the green indicator above his head. ![]() Take out the minions quickly and efficiently and then begin to focus on the boss. He will spawn with a few extra Dustmen - in my case it was four. This fight is very straightforward and there is not a lot that you need to worry about. Once you have reached the second level you will find the Jack of Dust hiding under one of the cards. Some of them can not be unlocked during this level, and most enemies will die too fast for the others. Don't worry about trying to unlock any achievements during this scenario. The only enemies you should face on your way to the Jack of Dust are very weak Dustmen. Later on in the game you will also have the option to ask her for a blessing. You wont run out of food on this level and you shouldn't have too much use for the extra health she can give. If you run into The Maiden I would suggest asking her for gold. In later scenarios asking him what he needs can lead to him taking a piece of your equipment in exchange for whatever he offers you. The shield is needed to be able to perform counter attacks with as well as shield bashes with. Lionel ask him what he needs and he will offer you up a Shield under most circumstances, but he can at times offer you a weapon, food, gold, or occasionally move your game piece to another spot on the map. You should only come across one or two encounter cards that put you into combat. You will have to make your way through two floors to find the Jack of Dust and defeat him in combat. You will begin the game with 100 health, 20 food, 10 gold, a Rusty Axe, and a piece of Light Armor. This will serve as a very basic tutorial to try and get you use to some of the controls. When you first load up the game you will automatically be placed into the Jack of Dust scenario. Just focus on adding encounter cards that have tokens you can unlock, and equipment cards that fit your own personal playstyle. Do not worry if you do not have all of the same cards available for your deck. I will also be providing deck suggestions for the first few levels. I will also be listing all cards that get unlocked through defeating story modes individual bosses. Exceptions to this are cards that have multiple parts, that have their own achievements, or get introduced during specific levels of the story mode. You can find all the information for each card on the card list page (including, all possible outcomes, how to unlock the cards token, and what the rewards are). ![]() Due to the random nature of this game, and what cards you will actually land on, I wont be going into specific details about each card in this section. This is normal as there is no "right order" to unlock the achievements. ![]() You may also find yourself unlocking some achievements earlier than I did. Do not be alarmed if you are unable to unlock some achievements at the same point as they are listed in this walkthrough. ![]() I am writing this walkthrough from the perspective of my own personal journey through the story, and the order that I was able to unlock the achievements in.
